Powersoft Global Solutions, an Indian RFID company, announced it has released a standards-based, end-to-end RFID Library Self Service solution to capitalize on the growth in RFID adoption in libraries. The solution includes stock management, self-service kiosks, return solutions and security management.
According to a press release, features include:
- RFID stock management: With the advanced handheld RFID Reader, stock tasks can be performed in a fraction of the time they would take to complete manually. The handheld device can be used to scan across shelves in a matter of minutes, to perform a complete stock check of the entire library.
- RFID self-service book kiosks: Library patrons can issue, renew and return items without the need to interact directly with a member of staff. These self-service kiosks also allow libraries to extend their opening hours.
- RFID Smart Gates: These cover most entrance and exit points to a library.
