• Redbox to continue getting Paramount DVDs on day of release

According to BusinessWeek.com, Viacom Inc.'s Paramount movie studio has agreed to extend its street-date deal with redbox.

Unlike other studios that have instituted a several-week wait to make their new releases available to redbox because they claim the rental kiosks would adversely affect DVD sales, Paramount Home Entertainment's president said that allowing same-day rentals had a negligible effect on the company's DVD sales.
