According to ThirdFactor.com, DigitalPersona, a developer of fingerprint-based biometric technology solutions, announced that it has partnered with ScriptRx, a developer of health care technology solutions, to integrate DigitalPersona's U.are.U fingerprint readers into ScriptRx's Electronic Medical Record and Discharge System for emergency rooms and urgent care centers.
The final solution is a kiosk that makes easier and biometrically secures regular tasks physicians have to complete regularly, such as charting medical records, accurate issuance of discharge instructions, prescription writing and accessing archived medical records — as well as allowing for one-touch access to various applications medical personnel need to use.
The solution offers each hospital's IT staff the choice between utilizing a number of accepted hardware platforms to host the system as well as one developed for ScriptRx's system.
