Global Axcess reports 229 percent earnings jump in first quarter

The Jacksonville Business Journal reports that DVD-rental kiosk provider Global Axcess saw a 229 percent earnings increase in the 2010 first quarter compared with the same period last year. Global Axcess CEO George McQuain said in the report that the company's investments in its DVD kiosk initiative have begun paying off, as in a three-year deal with a grocery chain that is expected to produce revenue of approximately $2.5 to $3 million in 2010.

The company reported earnings of $318,968 in the first quarter of 2010, compared with earnings of $96,762 for the first quarter of 2009.
