Fujitsu Components America, Inc. has expanded its thermal printer offering with the release of a high-speed, three-inch receipt printer unit for compact, self-service devices and kiosks.
The FTP-63AUSL001/002 series delivers print speeds up to 250mm/sec (9.84 inches per second) with 8 dot/mm resolution. Designed for long operating dependability, the printer has a minimum 150km total printing life. An available, heavy-duty, front-mount guillotine cutter has a minimum mechanical life of one million cuts.
To support shrinking self-service kiosk designs, the entire unit, with the optional auto-cutter, printer, and paper roll holder, is contained in a one-piece, die-cast frame measuring 130(W) x 246(D) x 125(H) mm and weighing 2.0kg. The frame also acts as a heat-sink during continuous printing, reduces shock and vibration, and provides mounting stability, ESD absorption, static electricity dissipation, and extreme temperature support from -20 to +70 degrees Celsius.
Additional features include Fujitsu's Easy-Load Mechanism, which simplifies paper loading as well as head maintenance or replacement, and several operating sensors that ensure continuous, uninterrupted performance.
Available immediately, the RoHS-compliant, FTP-63AUSL001/002 series is priced at $375.00 for the integrated mechanism/cutter/control board in 1,000-piece quantities. A Serial and a USB interface board are both available. Fujitsu will offer downloadable Windows® XP/Vista, Linux, and OPOS drivers for the printers.
