TURIN, Italy — Kiosk designer GDS ADM and software producer ETS have finished their first kiosk installation in Italy for Drive Auchan, a self-service grocer that allows patrons to make their purchases online or from a self-service kiosk outside the supermarket and collect the goods in the designated parking area.
According to a news release, the installation is being tested .
To use the service, registered customers can purchase goods online at http://driveauchan.it/ and decide the date and the hour to pick them up.
Payment can be made online or directly at the kiosk in front of the Drive Auchan pick up area, where patrons are given receipts and parking-point numbers for grocery pickup. The whole process takes less than five minutes.
From a mechanical perspective, GDS-ADM kiosks are able to adjust the height of the kiosk depending on the height of the car or of the customer.
The displays used in the outdoor applications benefit from the proprietary technologies of GDS that allow information displayed to be readable even in direct sunlight conditions. All GDS-ADM outdoor kiosks produced for Drive Auchan have an anti vandal, fraud and intrusion protection external case.
