• Intel helping upgrade India phone booths into e-kiosks

CIOL: State-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. in Bangalore, India, is upgrading hundreds of public call offices in the city and elsewhere in Karnataka into e-kiosks to provide multiple utility services to customers to book travel tickets, pay a variety of taxes, as well as browse and chat.
BSNL has teamed with Intel, the world's largest chip-maker, and the Karnataka PCO Owners Association to enable PCO operators to upgrade to electronic information and transaction kiosks.The agreement paves the way for any PCO operator having a BSNL connection to upgrade to e-kiosks by making a token investment.
