MELBOURNE, Australia — Symstream Technology Group Ltd., a provider of wireless-technology, has announced an alliance with Indosat, a telecommunications provider based in Indonesia, to roll out Symstream throughout Indonesia with the objective of providing a secure and robust wireless communications technology to the financial services market using the company's existing GSM network.
By deploying Symstream, banks in Indonesia will now be able to deploy ATMs to the most remote sites throughout the archipelago. The solution uses voice channel, unlike traditional General Packet Radio Service (GPRS), providing better security, reliability and speed.
This alliance will provide banks in Indonesia an opportunity to increase their ATM penetration with reduced overhead costs, better security, improved efficiency and functionality compared to other legacy technology being used.
