DAYTON, Ohio — NCR Corp. says it has expanded its branch-optimization portfolio by signing a multiyear license agreement with CIMA S.p.A, a cash-handling technology company.
According to a news release, NCR expects to leverage its manufacturing, customer service and sales and marketing experience to take CIMA's Teller Assist Cash Recycler to the global marketplace.
"As we continually innovate to improve the overall banking experience for financial consumers, technology like CIMA's TACR plays a very important role," said Brian Bailey, vice president of global marketing for NCR's financial solutions division. "By bringing CIMA's market-leading technology to the global market, we create incremental synergies through NCR's global supply line and manufacturing capability."

TACR technology is designed to improve branch efficiency and customer-service levels. The compact TACR automatically authenticates, counts, stores and makes available deposited currency notes, which are then recycled back to customers over the teller counter.
As much as two-thirds of a teller's daily processing time can be reduced using the TACR technology, NCR says.
The units will be offered as a component of NCR's branch-optimization portfolio.
