BRISTOL, England — Specialist payment services provider and transaction gateway CreditCall is the first non-bank in the United Kingdom to join the recently established PCI Security Standards Council. The council, founded by Visa International, MasterCard Worldwide, American Express, Discover Financial Services and JCB, is the independent body governing the data security standard for the card payments industry.
Participation will allow CreditCall to recommend changes to the standard and provide input on future initiatives in the areas of data security. CreditCall made world news when it became the first company to gain cross-region PCI DSS Level 1 certification in the United States and the U.K. in December 2005.
