SAN ANTONIO — Just a stone's throw from the city's historic and lovely River Walk, the Self-Service & Kiosk Show opened today in San Antonio's Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, to a record number of exhibitors and attendees.
"This show is so much bigger than any of our previous shows," said Terry Thompson, director of operations for the Show. "It's so exciting to see it all come together with so many companies here."
The exhibition floor is host to 88 kiosk and digital signage manufacturers, hardware and software companies, integrators and service providers. Anchor partners for the Show include ADFLOW Networks, KIOSK Information Systems, Nanonation, Palm Desert National Bank, St. Clair Interactive Communications, Source Technologies and U.S. Exhibits.
Supporting partners include CeroView, DynaTouch, Maysteel, New Edge Networks, StacoSwitch and Tata Consultancy Services.
New to this show are three special areas: the "Store of the Future," presented by IBM, which features a variety of cutting-edge retail applications in a hands-on setting; the Photo Kiosk Gallery, presented by the Photo Marketing Association; and the C-Store Zone, presented by the Texas Petroleum Marketers & Convenience Store Association.
What is not new to the show is the rigorous pre-screening of attendees. "The quality of the attendee list is always outstanding," Thompson said. "But this show, our attendee list is a who's who of major companies — retailers, hospitality, airlines, financial. It's really an amazing bunch of people."
The Self-Service & Kiosk Show was recently acquired by JD Events, operator of KioskCom. Learn more about the transaction, and what it means for future shows, here.
