Business First of Buffalo: Tops Markets LLC unveiled a new system that streamlines the grocery shopping process at its Maple Road store. With Easy Shop, customers are given hand-held devices to scan and bag items in their cart as they shop. Customers can also see how much they're spending before they get to the cash register. Project manager Karen Mulhern says that's one of the system's biggest advantages.

"The scanner will have a running total," she said. "If they scan something twice, they can void it off as they go as well."
