AUSTIN, Texas — Dresser Wayne, an Austin-based pioneer in the retail fueling industry and a division of Dresser Inc., announced the acquisition of certain assets of privately held Performance Retail Inc. (PRI). PRI is a leading provider of Web-based business intelligence solutions for petroleum retailers. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The purchased assets relate to the current version of PRI's InSite product suite, which is an integrated, Web-based retail business intelligence solution built specifically to meet the needs of convenience store operators and other petroleum retailers. Using InSite software, retailers can improve the profitability and efficiency of key business processes such as merchandising; category, inventory and vendor management; store operations; and loss prevention.
"This acquisition is another major step in our commitment to redefine the technology landscape within the petroleum retail market, thereby significantly influencing improvements of our customers' overall business performance," said Neil Thomas, global president of Dresser Wayne. "Combining the InSite product suite's business intelligence engine with the customer-facing sales and marketing capabilities of the Dresser Wayne iX Technology Platform, we are providing retailers with a complete merchandising solution unlike anything else available."
As with other Dresser Wayne solutions, the InSite product suite is an open, modular technology. The InSite product family can be integrated readily with third-party applications, including virtually any point of sale, back-office and price book system, to provide an enterprise-wide view of critical business data for multisite retailers. The InSite product even can support retailers utilizing different point-of-sale systems at various locations. The suite's modular design allows retailers to deploy the applications they need today and easily add capabilities as they grow.
PRI employees, except for its most senior management, are expected to transition to Dresser Wayne as part of the transaction.
