VIENNA, Va. – 30 Minute Photos Etc. redesigned its Irvine, Calif., photo-finishing store with new Lucidiom automated photo machines and fixtures to encourage customers to stay and play with their digital images.
According to a news release, the new store design creates a destination experience for customers, especially for female shoppers. The store now carries Lucidiom's Luci creative kiosk as well as four other Lucidiom APMs.
The Luci kiosk prints in a range of sizes and can scan complete scrapbook pages or artwork. It also features scrapbook-page templates and borders.
With 30 Minute Photos' "shoebox scanning service," customers can convert a box of photos into 300 dpi digital images for $49.95 (per 1,000 images). They can then go to the APMs to view the photos and order finished products.
"Our store services bring together the analog and digital photo worlds — from our custom portraits and restoration services to our photo scanning and scrapbook kiosk — so that the customer always can get great pictures, CDs and gifts quickly and easily," said Mitch Goldstone, president of the company.
With the Starbucks environment in mind, 30 Minute Photos Etc. created a relaxed, clean and comfortable atmosphere that allows customers to take time to peruse their photos. "The evolution and texture of a traditional photo lab has changed," said Goldstone. "Our new model built around Lucidiom's APMs reflects a modern template of services, encouraging people to stay longer and have more fun with their pictures."
30 Minute Photos Etc. is also giving each APM customer a bottle of water and a granola bar while they create their photos.
