The Self-Service World Outstanding Achievement Awards are a continuation of the Kiosk Awards.
 
The Kiosk Awards, first presented in 2000 by Kiosk magazine, were developed by Lief Larson, owner of Voyagi Inc. NetWorld Alliance, publisher of SelfServiceWorld.com and KioskMarketplace.com and manager of The Self-Service & Kiosk Association, acquired Voyagi's kiosk division in 2004. The acquisition included Kiosk magazine, The Kiosk Show and the Kiosk Awards.
 
The industry's evolution from hardware-based to solutions-based has been the cue for a few changes. In Oct. 2005 The Kiosk Show became The Self-Service & Kiosk Show, and in Jan. 2006 Kiosk magazine became Self-Service World magazine. Now the Kiosk Awards have received a similar update, welcoming an ever-broadening array of solutions and technologies.
 
Not only is its name updated, but the Awards have new purpose and an expanded audience as well.
 
Purpose
The Self-Service World Outstanding Achievement Awards exist to recognize outstanding achievements in the use of self-service technologies and solutions.
 
Organization
The Awards are divided into seven industry-specific categories and one general category. This organization emphasizes the diversity and flexibility of self-service solutions and automation.
 
Places
The Outstanding Achievement Awards will recognize Gold, Silver and Bronze winners in each category. One overall winner will receive the Self-Service World Outstanding Achievement Platinum Award.
 
Entrants
Solutions may be entered either by end-market deployers or the solution manufacturer, but the Awards will recognize both parties.
