LONG BEACH, Miss. — In 2005, Triton saw an increase of 21 percent in its U.S. 2005 ATM shipments, and significant growth in several targeted international markets, said Triton president Brian Kett. The winning ATM manufacturer, celebrating a quarter-century in business this year, announced in a news release it expects growth in shipments in 2006.
Triton shipped a total of 20,481 ATMs worldwide in 2005, with 14,782 of those shipments representing U.S. sales, a 21 percent increase from its 2004 U.S. shipments. International sales numbers increased in several targeted markets, including Asia, Australia, Canada and South Africa. However, the total number of ATM shipments worldwide increased only modestly from 2004.
Strong sales of Triton's popular models, including the 9100 series and the RL5000, continue to fuel growth. Triton's most popular ATM continues to be its 9100 series. The RL5000, an embedded PC-based model, is Triton's second best-selling product, because of its popularity with major retail chains and for financial placements. Triton's new through-the-wall models, the FT5000 and RT2000, also were strong contributors to success in 2005.
