SOUTHINGTON, Conn. — Resolute Partners LLC, provider of public Internet access and services to commercial businesses and U.S. military bases worldwide, announced in a news release that it has acquired New Brunswick, N.J.-based TAP Services Inc. TAP founder and president Thomas Pappalardo has been named president of the Resolute TAP Services division and to Resolute's Board of Directors. Pappalardo will be responsible for the new division's sales and daily operations.
Founded in 1986, TAP Services provides a full range of installation, project management and maintenance services for kiosks, networks, and Wi-Fi applications through a field service force of more than 6,500 technicians. In 2005, TAP touched more than 40,000 kiosks and hardware devices across the United States, in Europe and Central America. The TAP Network Operations Center, using advanced Web-based tools, remotely monitors customer networks and supports a broad range of help-desk services. TAP customers include Barnes & Noble, IKEA, Lockheed Martin and Catalina Marketing, which provides customer data and behavior-based loyalty applications and services to national supermarket chains. TAP has provided installation, support services and end-user customer service for Resolute's CZee CyberZone Internet cafes in the U.S. military market. In addition, TAP provides installation and call center support for several of Resolute's high-speed Internet access customers in the hospitality industry. "TAP is a recognized service leader in the kiosk, self-service technology industry, and as a result of a close and successful working relationship, it became very clear we could create exciting new opportunities in our military market by bringing Resolute and TAP together," said Michael S.
