ePaynews: JPMorgan Chase, the first issuer of contactless cards in the United States, is being joined by other issuers including MBNA America Bank, HSBC USA, Citibank and KeyBank. To date JPMorgan Chase has issued over 2 million contactless cards, while KeyBank plans to replace its consumer, small business and KeyMiles reward debit cards with 2 million contactless cards within six months. This fall, Citibank is also to issue 2.5 million contactless cards, while MBNA is now issuing credit cards with both MasterCard's contactless technology and a standard magnetic-stripe for convenience.
