PADERBORN, Germany — To support the worldwide trend towards check and cash deposit solutions, Wincor Nixdorf International has enhanced its software emulation for connecting self-service and host systems, the company announced in a Sept. 7 news release.
The company is offering suitable enhancements for check processing and cash recycling in the NCR and Diebold quasi-communications standard (NDC/D91x). The enhancements are already included on their host systems by host providers such as ACI, Mosaic, S-2 and others.
The transfer protocols used between cash machines and host systems are essential components of multi-vendor networks and are dominated mainly by quasi-standards from some manufacturers. As is already the case with EMV and RKL, Wincor Nixdorf has now developed its own protocol enhancements.
This is Wincor Nixdorf's direct response to cross-industry requirements to support cash recycling and check depositing in multi-vendor heterogeneous networks as part of the strategic repositioning of branch activities.
The protocol enhancement specifications have already been released and provided to a large number of host providers.
Wincor Nixdorf also is providing these specifications on demand to independent software providers and other manufacturers, thereby assisting the requirements of host providers.
