ePaynews: Vending machine provider Zoom Systems aims to have a network of 3,000 self-service robotic stores at high-traffic locations within 24 months. Zoom is gearing to dispense digital music players, headphones, PC accessories and cosmetics at its robotic stores for values of between $2 and $500.

Accepting that Web shopping has consumers used to making self-serve purchases without assistance, Zoom believes the U.S. market is ready for high-value card payments at vending machines.
