SAN FERNANDO, Calif. — Precision Dynamics Corp. introduced its new, FCC approved, DR1000 RFID and barcode reader as part of its expanding line of Auto ID products. The new dual handheld reader is designed to improve the accuracy of patient identification and safety in the medical industry, as well as for use in commercial applications.Â
The DR1000 provides the ability to read/write to RFID wristbands and scan 1-D or 2-D barcodes. It combines an RFID reader/writer and an imaging barcode scanner into a tethered reader. The DR1000 can reduce common manual data-entry errors, eliminate repetitive data-entry into devices, and parse data and automatically fill in appropriate fields on a form.
For healthcare, the DR1000 will easily connect to point-of-care mobile carts and devices such as EKG machines, pulse oximeters, and infusion pumps, allowing for seamless and efficient patient administration, tracking and care. The reader is also valuable in POS applications where it can scan the UPC barcode for pricing and then use the RFID reader to complete the payment transaction.
