SMH.com: Qantas Airways will increase the number of self-service check-in machines at airports by more than 300 percent and has told staff 96 customer service positions will be slashed as a result.
 
The airline will boost the number of machines, which allow passengers to check in without the aid of Qantas staff, from 38 to 118 across Australia.
