Total RFID market to hit $24.5 billion in 2015

ECN Asia: A new study by Research and Markets projects the volume of RFID tags sold in 2006 will be almost three times the combined volume for the previous 60 years since their invention. The growth is attributed primarily to retailers and military forces requiring suppliers fit tags to pallets and cases but many other applications will be growing very rapidly. This exponential growth will continue with the value of sales of RFID tags expected to increase to 13 times the figure for 2005 by 2015. The value of the total market, including systems and services, will rocket to $24.5 billion in 2015.
