Rocky Mountain News: A new federal program planned at major U.S. airports, including Denver International Airport, is expected to result in shorter security lines for passengers willing to provide personal information.
 
The Registered Traveler program allows low security risk passengers speedy access through screening. Participants who provide their name, address, phone number and date of birth to the airport and who pass a background check by the Transportation Security Administration receive a "smart card" that contains biometric information such as fingerprint or iris patterns.
