• Digital View, VGS team up on digital signage

New York Digital View Group, a global provider of digital media networks and display technologies, has formed an alliance with Visual Graphic Solutions (VGS) to provide advanced digital signage for the foodservice, hospitality, convenience store and Quick Serve Restaurants (QSR) industries.

VGS, based in New York , is a manufacturer of signage in the architectural, foodservice, hospitality and retail industries.

"While there has been some activity in the QSR space, digital signage is still in its infancy across much of the food service, hospitality and retail industries," said Stuart Armstrong, chief operating officer for Digital View's U.S. operations. "There's a tremendous opportunity for us to work closely with VGS to develop state-of-the-art products and applications to provide a powerful added communications medium to consumers across these industries."

"We're eager to combine our expertise in signage with Digital View's technology, networking and marketing know-how to provide breakthrough ways to reach and engage diners, shoppers and travelers," said Donall Healy, chairman of VGS.

"The collective skills and resources of VGS and Digital View will help transform more traditional approaches to in-store and on-premise signage that currently exist in these industries."

VGS and Digital View previewed some of their preliminary joint initiatives at the recent National Restaurant Show, held last month in Chicago . These products included a slim line kiosk, a customized menu board and a counter topper, incorporating state-of-the-art digital signage and supporting technologies.

"VGS is essentially building product lines around our technologies, for use in a variety of applications," said Armstrong. "From our end, we'll be responsible for delivering a complete digital solution, encompassing hardware and software, as well as remote content management services on an ongoing basis once the signage installations are up and running."

Armstrong added that VGS will take the lead on generating sales, integrating Digital View's OEM solutions and handling assembly and delivery of the final signage products.
