FREMONT, Calif. — SMART Modular Technologies Inc. announced in a news release its Display Products portfolio, which includes the Open Frame Intelligent Panel and Perfect Fit system-level products to complement its existing line of thin film transistor liquid-crystal display Controller Boards. SMART's customers can choose from an array of performance levels and integrated functionality for casino gaming systems and embedded applications such as kiosks and ATM, point-of-sale, and industrial control systems.
Open Frame products include the SMART Intelligent Panel, which features a controller board and a TFT-LCD flat screen measuring 15, 17 or 19 inches, and the Perfect Fit product line, which includes a controller board and a custom-sized TFT-LCD. The Perfect Fit line offers customized options, including networking, power supply, and touchscreen controls.
The TFT-LCD controller boards are available with single, dual, or multiple input sources and can be configured via firmware to work with flat panel displays from any of the major TFT-LCD manufacturers. For instance, the Lily Digital board, which is well-suited for low-cost applications, supports analog, digital, and video applications and offers VGA and SXGA resolution. The Sunflower II board, which is designed for high-performance applications, including high-definition television/video, supports analog, digital, video, and television applications, including picture-in-picture functionality, and offers SXGA and UXGA resolution.
