iTeam kiosks deliver small business advice
Boston Herald: William Kazman, an engineering graduate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, knew he was on to a good business idea when even he had difficulty setting up his information technology system for his new firm. "Here I am, this supposedly brilliant MIT engineer, and I was having trouble," said Kazman, founder Westford-based iTeam Inc., a one-year-old IT firm. Kazman's business model: helping small businesses with their computer, printer, server, Internet and any other information technology needs to start up or keep a company running — and marketing these services at local retail shops via teleconferencing kiosks. A person can walk up to an iTeam kiosk, triggering a sensor that launches a quick video sales pitch from Kazman. But then a live tech assistant — located rooms, blocks or miles away — pops on the screen and discusses specific needs with customers in real time. Click here to read the full story.
