MENLO PARK, Calif.— Elo TouchSystems has added surface capacitive technology to the Entuitive 1525L 15" LCD desktop and 1547L 15" LCD chassis models.
Elo’s 1525L and 1547L touchmonitors with surface capacitive touch technology are suited for use in the retail markets for point-of-sale (POS) and kiosk-based applications as well as in the entertainment/gaming market.
"The versatile and popular 1525L desktop and 1547L chassis touchmonitors have proven themselves to be accurate, durable, reliable and robust in the field," said Mike Sigona, Elo's market manager.
"Both are currently available with Elo’s infrared, surface wave and resistive touch technologies, so it was the next logical step to enhance them with our new surface capacitive touchscreens, an excellent general-purpose technology."
According to Sigona, surface capacitive touch technology is environmentally resilient and offers superior sensitivity, including exceptional drag characteristics, with a fast, accurate touch response.
"A transparent protective coating makes the overlay resistant to scratches and abrasions and also increases durability," he said. In addition, touch performance is unaffected by everyday abuse and mishaps such as dirt, dust, condensation, liquid spills, contaminants or cleaning solutions.
