IRVINE, Calif. — AnyDATA Corp., a developer of code division multiple access modems, and Precidia Technologies, a developer of point-of-sale Internet protocol access devices, have partnered to offer a low-cost wireless connectivity option for dial-up ATMs.
According to a news release, using this solution, ATM operators can reduce communication costs by 30 percent and process transactions up to three times faster, while gaining access to some of the largest wireless networks in the world.
Certified by 41 CDMA carriers globally, AnyDATA modems enable users to transmit data over wireless networks. Precidia’s CellDial converts dial-up ATM transactions to IP and provides the necessary link to the EMIII modem via a simple cable connection. Together, they enable ATM operators to process transaction data over wireless networks, thereby reducing monthly communication costs and avoiding cumbersome line installations.
"One reason for the wide deployment of our products is that they are specifically designed for customers with no prior telecommunications experience," said Ed Huelsman, senior director of sales and marketing, U.S for AnyDATA. "When combined with Precidia’s CellDial, they become a simple-to-configure means to bring wireless IP capability to standard dial-up ATMs."
The AnyDATA/Precidia product pairing is a key element in third-party ATM processor Columbus Data Services (CDS) "all-in-one" wireless ATM solution.
"The solution is easily implemented and does not require any change to existing ATM equipment or systems — ATMs are literally up and running in minutes," said John Willmon, vice president of CDS. The firm has deployed more than 300 ATMs with the AnyDATA/Precidia combination.
