CONCORD, N.C. — Trusted Security Solutions has released a new version of its A98 Initial Key Establishment System software, version 3.0.
Included within the 3.0 release is full support for remote loading of initial keys in ATMs using either Diebold's certificate based protocol or NCR's signature based protocol.
Depending on the host software platform, a new key request can come from the ATM, be initiated at the host or from the A98 system itself, according to a news release.
Unique to the A98 is the facility for authenticated ATM team management, through a secure browser, to send a new key to an ATM from their desktop computer.
Release 3.0 provides an interactive eHelpDesk module that can be configured to give different levels of access and responsibilities to staff members assigned to administer the ATM network. Access can be granted for something as simple as viewing ATM identification numbers and locations to something as powerful as changing passwords for ATM technicians or remotely keying an ATM with a new triple DES key.
The A98 system is scalable to the number of ATMs involved and can be configured strictly for a remote key, traditional or "blended" ATM environments. According to the release, A98 is fully compatible with all known triple DES requirements and standards.
"We've come a long way when you think that the only option you had in the past to rekey an ATM was to send two technicians on site," said TSS President Dennis "Abe" Abraham.
