NORTH CANTON, Ohio — Bank of Moscow, one of Russia's top 10 financial institutions with more than 2 million individual and corporate customers, has purchased 200 Opteva ATMs from Diebold, Incorporated (NYSE: DBD).
Bank of Moscow's purchase includes two of Diebold's Opteva models -- a lobby cash dispenser and a through-the-wall cash dispenser. The ATMs are powered by Agilis, Diebold's software which is capable of interfacing with a variety of multiple-vendor products, reducing the need for back-end support.
Installation of the units is underway and will be completed over the course of two years.
"Opteva will provide uninterrupted service and convenience to our cardholders. We plan to install Opteva units in bank branches throughout all territories of Russia," said Igor Chuchkin, processing center chief for Bank of Moscow,
First introduced in 2003, Diebold's Opteva family of ATMs now includes seven different models. The first Opteva sale in Russia took place in April 2003. To date, more than 25,000 Opteva ATMs have been purchased by some of the world's leading financial institutions.
Russia's Laboratory of New Information Technologies (LANIT) acted as the distributor for the sale. A major Russian systems integrator, distributor and business partner of more than 40 of the largest global computer and IT companies, LANIT is a Russian third-party distributor for Diebold products and is Diebold's leading supplier in its Europe/Middle East/Africa region.
