PADERBORN, Germany — Wincor Nixdorf claims to be the first company in the world to develop standardized ATM software for multivendor networks, according to a news release.
The software, ProCash/IFX, ensures smooth processing of various banking transactions, such as cash withdrawals and the issuance of account statements, and simplifies the implementation of new business processes.
With ProCash/IFX, financial institutions can operate ATMs from different vendors with just one software system. ProCash/IFX, which was developed with the ProTopas 4.0 software environment, provides an open software platform based on CEN/XFS 2.0 and CEN/XFS 3.0. The move to a single system will help to lower operating costs, since multiple solutions no longer need to be maintained, the release noted.
ProCash/IFX enables an intelligent connection between the host and end-systems. The software is based on the Interactive Financial eXchange (IFX) reporting standard used by FIs for processing numerous transactions. The software also supports several new functions, like check scanning, intelligent deposits and cash authenticity checks.
Wincor Nixdorf has been a member of the IFX Forum since February 2002 and has played an active roll in the ATM/POS workgroup. This group is largely focused on developing new reporting formats to support ATMs, POS systems and other devices.
"As a vendor-independent reporting standard, IFX allows financial institutions to integrate all types of transactions in terminals supplied by different manufacturers," said Reinhard Rabenstein, vice president of Wincor Nixdorf. "With ProCash/IFX, we are offering our customers a uniform, vendor-independent software that enables, entire self-service networks to be operated with just one ATM software system."
