NORTH CANTON, Ohio — Cofinoga Group, a well-known French credit institution, has chosen Diebold, Incorporated (NYSE: DBD) as sole supplier of its off-premises ATMs.
According to a news release, Diebold will provide Opteva ATMs powered by Agilis software to Cofinago Group, a primary grantor of credit to department store customers across Europe.
The first of the ATMs, placed in Cofinoga's commercial partners' store locations, have been installed. Additional orders are expected to be formalized early in 2005.
The agreement includes both Diebold ATMs and maintenance services.
Denis Irigaray, head of payments technology services for the Cofinoga Group, said the agreement will enable Cofinoga to refresh its existing ATM pool, as well as install equipment at new partner sites.
The current sale includes Diebold's Opteva lobby cash dispenser and through-the-wall cash dispenser ATMs. Diebold's Opteva family of ATMs was first introduced in Europe in 2003.
The Opteva family of ATMs now includes seven units. To date, more than 20,000 Opteva ATMs have been purchased by financial institutions.
