AUSTIN, Texas — Wincor Nixdorf, Inc., a leading supplier of IT solutions for the banking and retail industries, introduced the BEETLE /iScan self check-out system to the U.S. marketplace. The BEETLE /iScan is currently being piloted at French hypermarket retailer, Auchan.
The BEETLE /iScan, built upon the proven BEETLE system and components, can easily be integrated into current store infrastructures. The modular BEETLE /iScan is available with a wide variety of configurations including a compact Scan and Bag model, a Scan and Pass model with conveyor belt, and a Scan and Pay model with a payment tower at the end of the conveyor belt.
The BEETLE /iScan features improved ergonomics with cash handling and a receipt printer located at the top of the terminal. It also features an intuitive user interface, minimizing intervention and operating errors while ensuring rapid acceptance by customers.
Based upon industry standards, the BEETLE /iScan’s flexible software architecture can easily be integrated into the existing POS solution, minimizing integration effort and cost. An attendant station can be set up locally for up to eight BEETLE /iScan systems, allowing an employee to support the systems if necessary and ensuring problem-free operation.
The BEETLE /iScan provides a choice of languages for the user interface, reducing intervention rates and speeding up checkout operations, and has an option for a coin recycling device that can minimize cash handling costs.
