NORWALK, Conn. — Ventus Networks, a full-service global telecommunications company, has been contracted to provide cellular financial-transaction-routing technology to Metavante, an ATM processor and provider of banking and payment technologies, according to a news release. Metavante is the financial technology subsidiary of Marshall & Ilsley Corporation.
Metavante selected Ventus’ Code Division Multiple Access cellular financial transport and routing service to provide its customers with secure and reliable wireless connectivity to drive off-premise ATM terminals. Under the terms of the contract, Ventus will provide a complete managed solution to Metavante, including network monitoring, installation and field service support.
Ventus Networks’ high-speed cellular transport solution operates in conjunction with TCP/IP and legacy protocols, enabling any remote device to communicate through a single network scheme. Cellular transport operates over a private cellular (800 MHz) and PCS (1900 MHz) infrastructure and is designed for businesses that have a portfolio of deployed devices facilitating financial transactions.
"We have made secure, reliable wireless technology a marketplace reality," said Keith Charette, president and chief executive officer of Ventus Networks. "Being selected to partner with such a highly respected leader in the ATM and banking industry … is quite a milestone."
"Ventus provides a very robust solution that doesn’t require a long-term hardware commitment," said Bruce Hopkins, senior vice president of Metavante Payment Solutions Group. "By partnering with Ventus, Metavante gains a wider range of cell suppliers and expands our coverage to virtually the entire U.S."
