KITCHENER, Ontario — PrinterOn Corporation introduced PrintSpots for public printing to connect those who need to print to printers at public hotspots. The secure, remote printing service conveniently connects users of wired or wireless laptops and wireless PDAs to printers found at Wi-Fi hotspots. PrintSpots eliminates the need for users to find and install print drivers for printing on the go, according to a news release.
PrintSpots can be installed as a value-added service near Internet cafes, libraries, corporate conference rooms, cyber kiosks, convenience stores, airline lounges, RV campgrounds, convention centers, truck and travel centers, and school campuses.
PrintSpots are ideal at hotspots where people have a need for convenient printing, such as at airports, convention centers, cafes or hotel business centers. For Internet Service Providers (ISPs), the initial investment is minimal and investment in additional hardware is not necessary in locations where printers already exist.
Patrick Pidduck, PrinterOn's Director of Product Management, said, "PrinterOn takes hotspot services to the next level by adding mobile printing capabilities. Wireless Internet Service Providers (WISPs) or ISPs can increase the value of their offering, improve usage rates and customer satisfaction, and ultimately generate additional revenue from their hotspot location by adding services for printing on the go."
