WEMMEL, Belgium — BioWise recently introduced its BioThenticate Totem, a low cost biometric authentication kiosk, according to a news release. BioWise partnered with Dobit N.V. for the design of the totem housing and the hardware assembly.
The BioThenticate Totem uses iris and fingerprint identification methods and allows for interactive communication with the user via an integrated touchscreen. A smart card reader stores biometric templates on a personal smart card as needed.
BioWise is a Belgian vendor-independent biometric systems integrator. The company specializes in biometric turnkey project implementation for banking, healthcare and public administration. The BioThenticate system was designed with SITA for the S-Travel project for seamless integration in the existing network infrastructure and can accommodate support for other types of biometrics.
