CARY, N.C. — Verve Financial Solutions has formed an alliance with HQS International to market and sell the HQS ATM Guardian Device, which is designed to prevent ATM card fraud, in all markets except Latin and South America.V
According to a news release, the ATM Guardian Device prevents the use of hardware modifications or tampering to divert or trap dispensed currency or obtain card and PIN information.
If the device detects an intrusion, a status message is provided to the ATM to be forwarded to the central host or monitoring system so that appropriate actions can be taken.
The ATM Guardian Device is currently operating successfully in South America, where concern over ATM fraud is high.
According to the release, it takes between 15-20 minutes to install, configure and test the AGD. The device is compatible with most ATM makes and models.
