NORTH CANTON, Ohio — Diebold, Incorporated (NYSE: DBD) has introduced a new member of its Opteva line of ATMs, the Opteva 500.
According to a news release, the Opteva 500 was created for environments where floor space is at a premium and features a smaller footprint than other Opteva ATMs. The unit's look and feel is consistent with the rest of the Opteva family.
The Opteva 500 is the seventh unit in the Opteva family, which Diebold launched in 2003.
"We believe the continued expansion of our Opteva product line will be well-received and will enable our customers to continue to provide the highest level of performance, functionality and service to their ATM users," said Eric Evans, Diebold's president and chief operating officer
According to the release, its low total cost of ownership makes the Opteva 500 affordable for many off-premises locations. Because it utilizes the Opteva infrastructure that is already in use around the world, certification efforts for the new machine should be minimized.
The entire Opteva family of ATMs utilizes processors that maximize transaction speed and incorporates a USB architecture to provide high-speed communications for data-intensive ATM applications. Like other members of the Opteva line, the Opteva 500 is powered by Agilis, Diebold's multi-vendor software.
Security features include an EPP4 encrypting PIN pad, consumer awareness mirrors and fraud-resistant features on both card readers and advanced-function dispensers, as well as a variety of alarm and lock options. Opteva ATMs are safeguarded by Sygate Security Agent software, which provides protection against a variety of hacking techniques.
