Sun-Sentinel.com: Financial institutions were gearing up for post-hurricane business, with plans to waive ATM fees in Florida's hardest-hit areas and to bring in mobile units so people can have access to cash after Hurricane Frances. Wachovia Corp., which has the second-highest market share in Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties, said it had waived fees for the worst post-storm areas after Hurricane Charley and planned to do so again. Eastern Financial Florida Credit Union, which operates 14 branches in South Florida, had plans to bring in trailers in the event its facilities were damaged. Banks are usually among the first businesses to reopen after a storm, said Florida Bankers Association spokeswoman Pam Ricco. "They're very well prepared, they're required to have detailed disaster plans and to be on the front lines for communities after disasters like a hurricane."
