CINCINNATI — The ATM Exchange, a provider of ATM refurbishing, parts, training and technical support, says that several ATM processing networks have now approved 3DESPlus, its Triple DES security product for virtually all Diebold and NCR ATMs.
The networks include: eFunds, Lynk, Fiserv Southwest, Columbus Data Services, Metavante, NYCE, NETS, and Shazam. According to a news release, testing has also been completed at Elan and Visa DPS, with final approval pending.
Approval or certification means that 3DESPlus is now approved for installation on any of the ATMs operating in these networks.
3DESPlus is the only Triple DES solution to date to be certified at a “Class B” level by Visa, which means that the entire ATM using the 3DESPlus product -- rather than just the EPP or Encrypting PIN Pad -- has met Visa's PED security requirements.
“This product supports Triple DES and is approved for ATMs that run on our platform,” said Ron Schuldt, president of Columbus Data Services, a third-party EFT processor which approved 3DESPlus earlier this month. “We feel it is important to assist our customers in finding and approving cost-effective Triple DES compliance solutions.”
