BROOKINGS, S.D. and CAPE TOWN, South Africa — Sandra Hartfield, president of Palm Desert National Bank's Electronic Banking Division and a leading electronic banking expert, has been elected to an executive officer position on the ATM Industry Association's Board, effective immediately.
The association's president, Tom Harper, proposed Hartfield's appointment, which the board approved, in recognition for her innovative service over many years in building up the off-premise ATM industry in the United States and for her long-term close involvement with ATMIA, especially in its recent committee work liaising with policy-makers and legislators.
"Sandra is a long-term friend of the industry and everyone on the ATMIA executive board welcomes her enthusiastically, " Harper said. "She has the talent and heart of an industry leader."
Hartfield will fill the vacant officer position of secretary on the board until the next board elections at ATMIA's major annual conference in Florida in February 2005.
A nationally chartered financial institution with assets exceeding $300 million, PDNB has ATM service centers in California and Louisiana. During her tenure heading up its Electronic Banking Division, Hartfield has grown the bank's off-premise vault cash business to a commanding market share position covering more than 12, 000 ATMs.
Under her guidance, PDNB became one of the nation's first suppliers of ATM vault cash. In addition to vault cash, Hartfield's division also offers ATM cash management, network sponsorship and ACH services, primarily to independent deployers.
Hartfield previously served as chief financial officer of American Merchant Bank.
