Chicago Sun-Times — The usage of self-service machines in the United States and Canada increased by 80 percent in 2003 over the previous year, ringing up $128 billion in sales, according to a new study by IHL Consulting Group. In fact, retail experts predict that automated checkout kiosks will soon be as mainstream as automated teller machines.
