• Gino's East launches twin kiosks

CHICAGO — Gino’s East is using touchscreen kiosks to allow in-store customers to order and ship the restaurant’s legendary Chicago-style deep-dish pizza to recipients across the United States.

According to a company news release, the decision to place two Insight 360 Degrees kiosks side-by-side in Gino’s East was made in anticipation of the increased demand of shipping the famous deep-dish pizzas around the country.

Jeffrey Himmel, president of Gino’s East Restaurant Corp., said the kiosks are great for last-minute gift-buying for customers’ families and friends and a major improvement in customer convenience.

“We have so many people who come into the restaurant and are disappointed they can’t take their favorite Chicago pizza home with them,” stated Himmel.  “Now, instead of the hassle of trying to take a bunch of frozen pizzas on the plane with them, they can have them shipped right to their house.”

Using the kiosks, customers can locate any listed address in the USA, choose to have gifts delivered tomorrow, or on any future date of their choice, and include a personalized message with the package.

Gino’s East Chicago-style deep-dish pizzas arrive frozen, complete with easy preparation instructions.

Insight 360 Degrees kiosk programs are designed to tie directly into the existing mail order system of each restaurant or manufacturer, regardless of the complexity of their backend processing system.

Dave Milazzo, Vice President, Marketing and Sales for Insight 360 Degrees, said the company spent over 12 months developing its touchscreen mail order kiosk system and creating and perfecting the kiosks’ user-friendly features.

One of the main goals was to allow kiosk customers, with little or no computer experience, to feel totally comfortable while shopping.  Milazzo said, “The colorful graphics, large buttons and incredibly smooth-flowing process allow a shopper to complete a transaction in an average of only four minutes, while having a lot of fun, too.”
