FREMONT, Calif.--Elo TouchSystems, Inc., the global
leader in touch technology and a business unit of Tyco Electronics,
today announces two new 15" and 17" Liquid Crystal Display (LCD)
touchmonitors that feature the company's CarrollTouch next-generation
infrared touch technology. The new monitors are an enhanced version of
Elo's popular 1547L/1747L 15" and 17" rear and panel mount touchmonitors.
Both touchmonitors are available with a serial or USB touch interface
and agency approvals for sale worldwide. The new 1547L/1747L rear/panel
mount touchmonitors with CarrollTouch infrared touch sensor are targeted
toward industrial and kiosk-based point-of-information (POI) applications,
where customers will benefit from the increased brightness, clarity and
durability of Elo's infrared touch technology.
Featuring next-generation infrared touch technology
Elo's CarrollTouch sensing technology has many advanced features not
traditionally associated with infrared technology. "The next-generation
design features a low-profile 4.5-mm bezel with nearly pixel-level
touch resolution and no parallax, and it operates in extreme lighting
conditions," says Paul Wiener, Elo's marketing manager. "The display is
protected by a choice of glass or acrylic overlays optimized for optical
clarity, security and safety."
CarrollTouch also offers a wide range of input options - including finger,
gloved hand, and credit card. And the infrared optical touch sensor technology
means the monitor is virtually calibration free, providing stable, drift-free
operation for a touch response that's always accurate.
Long-lasting product cycle
The 1547L and 1747L touchmonitors, like all of Elo's LCD chassis monitors,
have a long-lasting product cycle because the enclosure is controlled by
Elo's specifications. The monitors feature a unique injection-molded
minibezel and watertight seal, plus a choice of mounting options including
rear mount VESA and front/panel mount bezels or 19" rack mount bezel.
"Both the 1547L and 1747L LCD touchmonitors offer multilingual remote
on-screen display (OSD) as standard," says Wiener. "The 1747L 17" LCD
touchmonitor also features a wide 160º x 160º viewing angle and both
analog and digital (DVI-D) video inputs." Optional glass, acrylic and
tempered-glass filters give the 1547L/1747L display added protection
and sealability against contaminants with minimal loss of image clarity.
