Telephone Technologies Inc., a telecommunications company based in New York, has acquired the PIX (Public Internet Exchange) kiosk route. PIX is a division of The Programming Corp.
TTI was the first and is the largest New York City area company to deploy public access Internet terminals for the hospitality and tourism industry.
The acquisition will help TTI expand its sales and service kiosk business, using the software expertise, advertising contracts and management resources of PIX, according to a company press release.
Steven Blidner, TTI's president, also announced that Alex Lerner has joined the company as chief technology officer. Lerner has strong experience in the kiosk marketplace and route management and will be a great asset to the business, Blidner said.
TTI and its affiliated companies also install Wi-Fi services, public pay phones, and various other vending venues.
According to its web site, PIX operates public access terminals throughout Manhattan, New York City. It is expanding its network and rolling out additional new services such as Webcam ePostcards, printing capabilities, one-swipe email, online movie tickets, and more.
