SEATTLE -- Mercury Online Solutions Inc., provider of digital-signage networks, including interactive kiosks and large-format dynamic screens, said its FRED (Foto Realistic Electronic Delivery) software is now being used to deliver and control 3,000 public screens in 12 airports throughout China.
Initially implemented and proven effective in Beijing and Shanghai airports, licensing of FRED software has expanded to include Chengdu, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Kuming and Xian airports, with additional expansion expected in early 2004, according to a news release.
FRED software controls multi-media displays that include rear-lit posters, digital signage and actual product housed in a glass case. Other displays controlled through FRED provide media advertising and cable TV information feeds in the airports on a variety of screens, including giant LED video billboards, a 360-degree rotating video display, and flat-panel plasma screens.
The application enables remote delivery, control, and monitoring of digital video, motion graphics, real-time data and other visual elements from a central location.
