Toronto-based Signifi Solutions recently launched in Cleveland its newest entertainment kiosk suite: a fully weather-protected outdoor unit. The heated and air conditioned outdoor DVD-rental kiosk enclosure provides 24/7 customer access, and can be added to any Signifi kiosk.
Quickflicks, an Ohio-based owner/operator with a goal of installing 700 kiosks, contacted several vendors as it prepared an outdoor roll out.
"We knew outdoor kiosks were a key requirement for any serious operator and Signifi was the only company that was able to deliver a waterproof solution with automated cooling and heating,” said Melvin Reyes, operations manager of Quickflicks.
“Outdoor kiosks add convenience, visibility and 24/7 customer access. The sales lift for the owner/operator can be from 50 percent to 150 percent higher for an outdoor DVD kiosk,” said Shamira Jaffer, CEO of Signifi Solutions.
"The added convenience and visibility of outdoor machines is an absolutely critical ingredient for success in the entertainment kiosk industry,” said Greg Waring, a former vice president of marketing with redbox. "Redbox figured that out early on in their development and the majority of their new installations have been outdoors."
Signifi said its kiosks dispense the DVDs to renters five to 10 times faster than the market average time of other DVD rental kiosks.
The Signifi turn-key solution includes Web-based backend, inventory and customer management tools, as well as Esprida's enterprise remote management platform. The solution is further enhanced with a full digital signage management system that controls a dedicated advertising LCD screen.
