Scientists at Pittsburgh-based Disney Researchers are working on touch screens where the user would feel the location of the keys, and could possibly learn to "touch type" without looking at their hands, according to CNN Tech.
The “TeslaTouch” screen uses slight electrical impulses to create a pull and push between a person's fingertip and the screen. The glass plate that users touch is topped with a transparent electrode and an insulator. The electrode creates small electrical fields in the insulation layer. The fields oscillate between positive and negative charges, causing a small static force to control friction between a user's finger and the screen.
