Tokyo-based OKI Electric Industry announced it had delivered 40 of its SUKIT automated check-in kiosks to the newly opened international terminal building at Haneda Airport. The Common Use Self Service (CUSS) check-in software for the SUKIT was provided and installed by ARINC Inc., to be used by various airlines.
The airlines served by the SUKIT kiosks include All Nippon Airways (ANA), Japan Airlines (JAL) and several overseas airlines.
The SUKIT offers a passport reader, 2-D barcode scanner and a boarding pass printer, all requisites for overseas travel. An A4 width thermal printer is standard.
The new international terminal building built at Haneda Airport by Tokyo International Air Terminal Corporation (TIAT) is positioned as a new Asian air hub and as Japan's representative gateway. TIAT anticipates some 90 million passengers annually at Haneda.
"OKI's SUKIT was developed based on our know-how as the leader in the industry and our strong track records in ATMs, self check-in terminals for airline companies, and ticket reservation and issuing systems for railroad companies," said Yasushi Kiriku, OKI’s general manager of enterprise systems.
